Minor Procedures | Medicutis Clinic

All minor procedures at Medicutis are performed in a sterile clinical environment, under local or topical anaesthesia, by a qualified dermatologist. Dermoscopic assessment is performed before any lesion removal — because what something looks like from the outside is not always what it is.

Mole & Skin Tag Removal

Most moles are benign — but every mole at Medicutis is assessed with dermoscopy before removal to confirm this. No mole leaves our clinic without a clinical assessment first. Removal is quick, painless under local anaesthesia, and heals cleanly in 1–2 weeks.

What to expect:

  • Dermoscopic assessment before any removal — no exceptions
  • Painless under local anaesthesia — 15–30 minute procedure
  • Radiofrequency ablation for benign moles: minimal scarring, flat healing
  • Surgical excision for suspicious or raised moles: histopathology submitted
  • Histopathology report in 5–7 working days for excised lesions

Best for: Benign moles, suspicious moles (dermoscopy-assessed first), skin tags, raised or cosmetically bothersome lesions

Wart & Molluscum Contagiosum Removal

Warts (HPV) and molluscum contagiosum are viral — they spread on the body and between people, and many don’t resolve without treatment. The quicker you treat, the less there is to treat. Multiple sessions are usually needed because the virus cycles through stages.

What to expect:

  • Radiofrequency ablation: for filiform and periungual warts
  • Intralesional bleomycin or candida antigen: for resistant recalcitrant warts
  • Molluscum: extraction (curette), cryotherapy, or topical imiquimod
  • Topical numbing used, for a painless procedure.

Best for: Common warts, plantar warts, periungual warts, molluscum contagiosum in children and adults

Milia & Corn Removal

Milia — those tiny hard white bumps under the eyes or on the nose that don’t go away with any skincare — and corns — the painful thickened skin on pressure points of the feet — are both easy to remove in-clinic and both often managed completely incorrectly at home.

What to expect:

  • Milia: fine sterile needle extraction — no anaesthesia needed, 24–48 hour healing
  • Multiple milia cleared in a single 15–30 minute session
  • Corn: professional paring to remove the central plug causing pain
  • No downtime for either procedure

Best for: Milia around eyes, nose, and cheeks; painful corns and calluses on feet

Keloid & Hypertrophic Scar Injections

Keloids overgrow beyond the original wound boundary — common in Indian skin — and can become painful, itchy, and significantly larger if left untreated. Early, consistent treatment is the key. Intralesional steroid injections are the gold-standard first-line treatment, and the results are genuinely impressive when the protocol is followed.

What to expect:

  • Intralesional triamcinolone injection directly into the keloid body
  • For larger keloids: 5-FU or bleomycin combined with steroid for enhanced effect
  • Gradual softening and flattening from 4–6 weeks per session
  • 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart — results are cumulative
  • Diagnosis confirmed before injection (keloid vs hypertrophic scar require different approaches)

Best for: Keloid scars — earlobes, chest, jaw, shoulders; hypertrophic post-surgical or post-acne scars

Scar Revision

Not all scars are the same — and not all scars need the same treatment. At Medicutis, we assess the scar type, age, depth, and skin tone before designing a protocol. The right combination of treatments for your specific scar produces dramatically better results than any single approach.

What to expect:

  • Dermapen 4 microneedling — for atrophic (depressed) and textural scars
  • Fractional CO₂ laser — for significant atrophic scars needing resurfacing
  • Subcision — for tethered scars held down by fibrotic bands
  • Intralesional steroid — for raised hypertrophic scars
  • Scar revision threads — structural elevation of depressed scars with medical grade Threadlifts

Best for: Post-surgical scars, post-acne atrophic scars, traumatic scars, hypertrophic scars, burn scars

Skin Biopsy

When a skin condition doesn’t look typical, doesn’t respond to treatment, or needs a definitive diagnosis before planning management — a biopsy tells us what’s actually going on. Quick, minor, under local anaesthesia — and the results guide accurate treatment rather than continued trial-and-error.

What to expect:

  • Punch biopsy (3–4mm): most common — 1–2 sutures, heals in 7–10 days
  • Shave biopsy: for raised lesions, no sutures required
  • Excisional biopsy: complete removal with margin for suspicious lesions
  • Histopathology report within 5–7 working days
  • Results discussed in a dedicated follow-up consultation — never by phone without context

Best for: Unclear or atypical skin lesions, suspected skin cancer, chronic unresponsive skin conditions, pre-surgical diagnosis

Stretch Marks Treatment

Stretch marks are permanent dermal scars — but that doesn’t mean they can’t be significantly improved. Red and purple fresh marks respond very well. White and silver old marks need deeper treatment. We’re honest about what each stage can achieve — and consistent treatment produces real, visible results.

What to expect:

  • Red/purple stretch marks (fresh): chemical peels + microneedling + PRP/GFC — significant improvement
  • White/silver stretch marks (old): MNRF(Vivace, one of the World’s top MNRF device, USFDA approved) or Fractional CO₂ for deeper remodelling
  • Dermapen 4 + PDRN or GFC applied directly into channels for regeneration
  • Results build progressively over 4–6 sessions
  • Combination protocols designed based on the age and stage of your marks

Best for: Pregnancy stretch marks, post-weight-loss striae, growth-related marks on abdomen, thighs, breasts, arms

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Will mole removal leave a scar?

Radiofrequency ablation for benign moles leaves a flat, healed area with very minimal scarring — typically less noticeable than the mole itself within 3–6 months. Surgical excision leaves a fine linear scar. All scars are smaller than the original lesion in experienced hands.

How many sessions for wart removal?

Most warts need 3–6 sessions. Plantar warts (on the feet) and periungual warts (around nails) are the most resistant. Molluscum usually clears in 2–4 sessions. Spacing is 2–4 weeks between sessions.

Can stretch marks completely disappear?

Complete removal is not achievable — they are permanent scars. But significant visible improvement (50–70%) is very achievable, especially for red/purple fresh marks. At Medicutis we give you a realistic, stage-specific prognosis at consultation — not promises.

How long does keloid injection treatment take?

Softening begins 4–6 weeks after the first injection. Full course is 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Hypertrophic scars typically flatten more fully than true keloids. Maintenance sessions may be needed to prevent recurrence.
